As part of our work, Prerana intends to empower women belonging to BPL category by creating self-employment avenues for them. We have identified 50 needy women of Nagaon District for distribution of looms (Tat Saal). The beneficiary selection has been done with the help of Handloom & Textile Department, Government of Assam. The criteria followed for selection of beneficiaries’ were: belonging to BPL Category; one family one loom; and should not have availed any other benefit under similar scheme. We are planning to ceremonially distribute the looms to the beneficiaries in a public function on the 10th of February, 2018 at 11:00 am in Nagaon.
