
It was the month of April, the beginning of the Assamese new year, a time of dance and festivity, of Rongali Bihu and the beckoning of a new beginning! Accordingly all the ladies of Prerana club prepared to celebrate the season through the Rongali monthly club meet. There was also a very special occasion welcoming of the new President of Prerana,IAS
Officers Wives Association, our most beloved Madame TY Das, Chief Secretary, Assam. Prerana is really very fortunate to have such a loving, kind hearted, spiritual woman and leader like her as the President.
As always there were three hostesses designated for the club meet Mrs Anjana Jain,
Mrs Indu Singh and Mrs Anamika Tewari. All of them were brimming in sheer enthusiasm to organize the meet. Accordingly they selected a new ambiance to host the meet. The newly inaugurated banquet hall of the CSOI, Khanapara with its freshness and grandeur was decided as the venue.

The day was 22nd April,Sunday afternoon at 3 pm with the dress code being Mekhla Chador. Rongali bihu being the theme, the entire area was beautifully decorated with gamoshas, jaapi, flowers, sarais, Assamese embroidery etc. The hostesses dressed in their beautiful uniform Mekhla Chador with red blouse, traditional khopa ( hairdos), Assamese jewelry etc. They looked awesome in similar makeups and dress. It was a pleasant surprise of the invitees who cheered,smiled broadly at them, appreciating their enthusiasm. All the ladies of Prerana were so beautifully dressed in traditional dresses. Smti T Y Das graced the occasion and took stock of events and works of Prerana.
